Starting Keto (or rather, Re-Starting My Keto Journey) – My First Weigh-In for 2020
Whoot, whoot! I am pleased to announce I stuck to my guns and didn’t drink at all last night to ring in the New Year.

Now that my liver is happy let’s get down to the nitty gritty.
You can’t start a journey if you don’t know where you stand. So what follows is a little bit of record keeping for myself. (Using the “Kiss Method” – Keep it simple stupid!)
Two numbers that is all we are going to focus on!
Natalie’s Re-Start Weight – 172 Lbs
Belly Measurement – 37.5 inches
We measure the belly to keep track of if we have lost any inches. Often times, people who start Keto see a quick drop then they will hit a mysterious Plateau; where there is no change on the scale. However, often times there will be a change to the belly measurement.
Trust me, if you are following a long, jot down the starting measurement of your belly. (I usually measure around my belly button. I know it’s not the fattest part of my belly area… but that way I can remember where I measured the last time.) This is one of those extra steps worth taking. Just in case you need proof that things are actually changing.
Bulletproof Coffee – With Whipping Cream
Eat your Heart out Starbucks!! This Bulletproof Coffee recipe does an excellent job of curbing your appetite. Plus it feels like you just ordered a fancy coffee from Starbucks. I like to top mine off with a few sprinkles of cinnamon or even some shavings of an 85% dark chocolate. So Yummy!
You are going to need a Milk Frother. I have been through so many milk frothers that I could write a book on them. I have had frothers that give you an electric shock, battery operated ones and even the old fashions handheld whipper. I finally found a model from Starbucks that takes a licking-and-keeps-on-ticking! It has served me loyally for years now.
- 1 cup hot coffee freshly brewed
- 1 tbsp butter, 1 tbsp MCT oil or coconut oil (your choice) ** r/KetoTrees Members – You can also add a shot of CBD oil for this step.
- ¼ to ½ cup of full fat Whipping Cream (liquid form)
- Dash of cinnamon or a sprinkle of 85% Chocolate shavings
1)Brew the coffee- My machine lets me choose between espresso or classic brewing styles. I often do the expresso, as I want it to feel like a Starbuck coffee.
2)Add liquid whipping cream to your frother.
3)Once coffee is done add you 1 tbsp of your Fat choice to the mug.
4) Add frothed cream to the mixture in the coffee mug
5) Top off with cinnamon or chocolate. (or leave it plain)
This should result in 0 Net Carbs, and a 99% Fat content.
That should hold me over until I want to make Keto Pancakes or Keto Breakfast!

- 1/2 tsp shredded chocolate
Brew the coffee
Add liquid whipping cream to your frother.

Add frothed cream to the mixture in the coffee mug
Top off with cinnamon or chocolate.
